FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Q: Do You provide a written contract?

A: Yes. It is very important that your date is confirmed in writing. We provide a written contract for every event.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes. Every responsible business should be insured. We have a General Liability Policy.

Q: How far in advance should we book?

A: The sooner the better. We work on a "first come, first served" basis and can not guarantee your date will be available until your contract is signed and a deposit is made.

DJ's COMMENTS: We DJed at 41 events last year. That equates to more than one event per weekend in 3 weeks of every month. We currently have events booked out as far as 14 months from now.

Q: Do you have professional equipment?

A: Yes. We carry state-of-the-art, commercial grade DJ equipment from a variety of reputable companies.

Q: Are there any advantages to being completely digital?

A: Yes. Our song database is searchable by several different categories. Want a Slow Dance Song from the mid 70's? We can find you dozens to choose from in a matter of seconds. Don't know the name of that special song, but know the artist? Another few seconds and we can show you every song in our libary from that artist. We can even find the #17 song from the Billboard Top 100 of 1981 with just a few keystrokes.

DJ's COMMENTS: I attended a wedding recently where a DJ used mini disks and CDs for all of his music. He had to look each request up in a book to know if he had the requested song. Then he had to find the correct disk, load it and select the correct track to play. This took several minutes per request. This was an extremely inefficient way of doing things.

Another DJ burned all of the "MUST HAVE" songs on a CD before hand and added enough of the requested music types to fill his time slot. At first glance, this seemed like a better way to do it, but he had to follow the pattern that he had burned the songs on ech separate CD. A good DJ watches the crowds reaction and changes the order of play to "keep 'em dancing". He was unable to do that.


Q: Are there any disadvantages to being completely digital?

A: Not that we have encountered. Everything is easier and runs smoother with a digital format.

Q: What types of music do you play?

A: The answer to that question is easy. Your Type of Music! When you fill out our "DJ Questionaire", you tell us what types of music you want to hear (and even what you don't want to hear). You can select "MUST HAVE" songs and artists. We have a library of over 10,000 songs and we are constantly adding more to it each week. We stay ontop of all of the Top 40 charts and add songs "per request" as needed. We have music from the 1930's through today in virtually every genre.

DJ's COMMENTS: In a conversation with another DJ, he told me that 10,000 songs was far too many. He only had a few thousand because "you can't dance to everything" and "most parties only want the new dance songs". On the surface, this would seem to be true, but I had an "on the fly" request for a classic country song for "Grandma & Grandpa's dance". I had the song and will be willing to bet that there was not a dry eye in the house after the dedication of this song to "Grandma" and their slow romantic dance together.

Q: Do you take requests?

A: We do take requests if you want us to. We ask this question on our DJ Questionaire.

DJ's COMMENTS: Personally, I believe requests make a better party. We play "What your guests want.. When They Want It". This is handled with some discretion i.e., We won't honor a Request for inapproppriate songs for the occasion.

Q: How many different DJs do you have?

A: We have 2 DJs on staff. Unlike the "agencies" or "DJ Brokers" that have all of the names of practically every DJ in the state on file, our DJs are in house. Come in and meet with them. Sit down and discuss your needs with the actual person who will be DJing your event. The entertainment will most likely be the most remembered aspect of your event.

DJ's COMMENTS: We have been called a few times by the "DJ Brokers" asking us to fill a particular date that they have scheduled. I couldn't imagine scheduling an event, taking someones money and then scrambling to find the first (or cheapest) person with an amplifier and 2 speakers to DJ the event. This Really Happens!!
